As we begin week five of the UK lockdown, we look out upon an eerily quiet Piccadilly, knowing of the terribly difficult time many will be facing. And yet, amongst this harsh reality, shine glimmers of hope. Parakeets have made themselves at home in neighbouring Green Park, our living wall is thriving and a real sense of community has emerged. Whilst the vast majority of our team here at The Athenaeum remain furloughed, we do still have a handful of colleagues holed up in the hotel. Dubbed the 'lockdown team', this group will be bringing you stories, tips, recipes and insights, which we hope will provide a welcome distraction.
